Wynn M. Meehan
Senior LE sales/ Jr. Weapons Engineer
I was born in Helena, Montana and growing up I was taught to be an avid hunter and fisherman. I am very passionate about hunting, fishing and being outdoors. I have been successful in harvesting numerous whitetails, mule deer, elk, bear, a mountain lion, bobcats, antelope, and a buffalo.
My rodeo career ended in July 1994 after being stepped on by a bull and breaking my sternum. I March 1995 I enlisted in the Montana National Guard as a firefighter and was deployed in 1997 to Hungry, Croatia, and Bosnia until March 1998. During my deployment I got certified as a EMTB and continued with my EMT until 2001 when Detective duties became too much to be able to do both. In 1996 I started as a Detention Officer for the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office, switching to the Helena Police Department in 1999 and in 2000 I was offered a Deputy Sheriff position with the Broadwater County Sheriffs Office. In May 2001 I was assigned to the Missouri River Drug Task Force as a Detective and still being responsible for patrol in Broadwater County. In 2003 I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant of Patrol and Detective for the MRDTF. IN August of 2005 I was assigned as a Deputy Coroner for the office. In 2006 the Mexican Mafia identified me as a narcotic officer and identified my wife and children during a methamphetamine purchase in Bozeman, MT. I asked for reassignment and was promoted to Captain of the Broadwater County Sheriff’s Office. In February 2011, I was promoted to Undersheriff for Sheriff Brenda Ludwig. I remained Undersheriff/ Deputy Coroner until December 23, 2015 when I was appointed as the Sheriff/ Coroner for the Broadwater County Sheriff’s Office by the County Commission. I ran for office in a special election in 2016 and again in 2018. I served as the President of the Montana Sheriff and Peace Officer Association and the Montana Coroner’s Association in 2021.
In 2020, I met Kimo Kalawai’a while he was helping the local church wash patrol vehicles. Kimo had moved to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic and we share many interests in firearms and bring the best effective equipment we can to our Law Enforcement friends and partners. Which led to the partnership in Montana 406 Rifle Company Hui Hui. I was introduced to Don McDowell I believe in 2022 and had the pleasure of being on his show in February or March that year and was able to be in studio in November 2023.
Currently I am a Livestock Nutrition Specialist for our local Co-op.
